PAINT ONANCOCK Plein Air 2008
PROSPECTUS A CALL FOR ARTISTS EVENT A Plein Air painting event will be held, rain or shine, in Onancock, Virginia, on Wednesday, October 1, Thursday, October 2, Friday, October 3, and Saturday, October 4.
Historic Onancock, founded in 1680, is on The Eastern Shore of Virginia and has many locations of interest to the artist. A list of sites will be sent to participants upon receipt of their application.
AWARDS: FIRST PRIZE $100 SECOND PRIZE $75 THIRD PRIZE $50 ARTIST JUDGING : BEST IN SHOW $100
REQUIREMENTS All work must have been executed on location during the event without reference to photographs. All work, upon presentation to the gallery, must be framed and ready for hanging.

TIMELINES
Applications: Due with entry fee ($25) by AUGUST 31, 2008
Artists will receive a list of locations, on both public and private land, where they can paint for two and a half days (October 1 – 3) -The list of locations will contain directions.
Artists can paint all day Wednesday, October 1; Thursday, October 2; and the morning of Friday, October 3. Artists will hand their “fresh” work framed and ready to hang to their assigned gallery on Friday, October 3 no later than noon. Gallery reserves the right to choose two but may take more.
PRE-EVENT
SEPTEMBER 30 [Tuesday] Participants are invited to stop at the RED QUEEN GALLERY from 7 to 9 to meet other participating artists, and get a walking map of Onancock. Light refreshments: rsvp: maryann.connelly@gmail.com
OCTOBER 1 [Wednesday] PAINT ONANCOCK (artist’s location of choice)
OCTOBER 2 [Thursday] PAINT ONANCOCK (artist’s location of choice)
OCTOBER 3 [Friday] PAINT ONANCOCK (morning only)
All work framed and ready to hang presented to gallery no later than 12 p.m.
OCTOBER 3[Friday] 5 – 8 pm: FIRST FRIDAY - PAINT ONANCOCK Plein Air All work on display in galleries; judging; prize awards
OCTOBER 4 [Saturday] PAINT ONANCOCK Plein Air works in galleries. Work may be claimed by artist when gallery closes for the day, or left by arrangement
OCTOBER 6 [Monday] planning PAINT ONANCOCK Plein Air 2009 begins!
